Welcome to Van Alstyne Fire Department!
The VAFD was established in 1889 and is a combination department comprised of full-time and volunteer staffing serving southern Grayson County.
We are staffed 24/7 for both Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and all of our ambulances are equipped with advanced cardiac life support capabilities.
The Department provides emergency services for Van Alstyne, Gunter and the unincorporated southern areas of Grayson County.
The VAFD is proud to be a part of a fast-growing city that is rich in history. We support our citizens through multiple programs and fundraisers and are available to present educational programs to schools and nursing homes.
